Attach the chains, confirm clearance around the unit, and use the push-button controls to establish the securement. Automatic Tension Management then checks at programmed intervals and automatically retightens as needed during transport.

Yes, where the application and securement configuration are appropriate. Unlike manual or drill-assisted binders, SMART SecureLoad integrates powered tightening with automatic retightening in a single tensioner.

Typical fleet use can provide roughly two weeks between charges, depending on number of cycles, operating conditions, temperature and usage. It is estimated to provide about 80 loads between charges.

The securement remains mechanically tensioned. SMART SecureLoad does not rely on battery power or continuous motor torque to hold the load. Once tension is established, it mechanically resists reverse movement. Loss of battery power therefore does not cause the unit to release or loosen. Battery power is required to electrically tighten, loosen, or perform Automatic Tension Management functions.

The green heartbeat indicates that Automatic Tension Management is active.

No. Drivers remain responsible for required cargo-securement inspections. SMART SecureLoad makes operating status easy to check and can automatically retighten between inspections.

When not in use, store SMART SecureLoad® in a clean, dry, secured location such as a truck toolbox, equipment compartment, or other protected storage area.

Avoid prolonged exposure to standing water, road salt, chemicals, excessive dirt, or locations where the unit could be struck or damaged during transport.

For extended storage, remove the battery and store it separately in a clean, dry location away from extreme temperatures. Store and use the charger indoors in a dry area.

The complete system has a 1 year limited warranty, and the structural and drivetrain components of the tensioner has a three year limited warranty. Battery Pack & Charger have one year 1 year limited warranty.

DOT/FMCSA does not issue individual product approvals for cargo-securement tensioners. SMART SecureLoad® is designed and marked to conform to applicable FMCSA cargo-securement requirements under 49 CFR 393.100–114 and has a 9,200 lb. Working Load Limit.

As with any tiedown device, compliance depends on proper selection, installation and use as part of the complete cargo-securement system. Drivers and carriers remain responsible for properly securing the load and performing required inspections.
